A Guide to Global Population Projections -- this article was published in 2001 in the journal Demographic Research . It examines in considerable detail the demographic projection methodologies of the four main projections. World Population Projections, 2020 -- This brief article was published in 1994 by the International Food Policy Research Institute ( IFPRI ). It examines some of the assumptions made by the UN in its population projections at the time. It is available at http://www.ifpri.org/2020/briefs/number05.htm .

IIASA Population Projection Results -- This article examines population projections prepared by International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis  (IIASA) in 1996 and compares them to projections made by the United Nations and the World Bank.
